About the Treasurers Office
The City Treasurer is responsible for the accounting and reporting of financial activity in the City of Mt. Morris, in accordance with the City Charter, State law and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The treasurer also prepares the City's annual budget, with the assistance from the City Manager and Department Directors.
The City Treasurer is responsible for the preparation of the City's tax roll, as well as the invoicing, collection, and settlement of ad valorem property taxes in the City. We also collect as a pass-through agent for the Mt. Morris Public Schools, Genesee Intermediate School District (ISD), Mott Community College, State Education fund, Bishop Airport, Mass Transit Authority, and Genesee County.

Property Taxes
Summer tax bills-due and payable July 1st - September 15th. Winter tax bills-due and payable December 1st - February 14th. Late summer bills are subject to 6% penalty. Later winter bills are subject to a 3% penalty.

Please note that after you can no longer make tax payments to the City of Mt. Morris after March 1st of the current year taxes. These taxes will be sent to the Genesee County Treasurers Office - you will need to contact them for pay off amount. This does not include personal property taxes.

Mail payments with tax bill or tax ID# on check to City of Mt. Morris, 11649 N. Saginaw St., Mt. Morris, MI 48458.
If you need to change the name and/or billing address for a property tax bill, please provide this information to the Treasurer’s office in writing. For your convenience, there is a notice of change form located under forms on the website.
